Oslob Gentle Giants
Oslob is world-famous for its year-round whale shark watching, where visitors can swim or snorkel with these “gentle giants” (locally called butanding or tuki) just 50 meters from the shore.
Whale sharks are attracted to the area by local fishermen who feed them small shrimp (uyap) from paddleboats. The encounter is limited to 30 minutes per person.
Chocolate Hills Bohol
The Chocolate Hills are a world-famous geological formation in the province of Bohol, Philippines, consisting of at least 1,260 to 1,776 symmetrical, cone-shaped mounds spread over an area of more than 50 square kilometers. Ranging from 30 to 120 meters tall, these limestone hills turn a distinct chocolate brown during the dry season (Dec–May) and are lush green during the rainy season.
Kawasan Falls
Kawasan Falls in Badian, Cebu, is a world-renowned multi-tiered waterfall system famous for its vibrant turquoise waters and lush jungle surroundings. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world.
This is the most popular adventure, involving a 3–5 hour journey of trekking, swimming through canyons, and jumping off cliffs ranging from 3 to 15 meters.
Philippine Tarsier
The Philippine Tarsier (Carlito syrichta) is one of the world’s smallest primates and an iconic symbol of Bohol. These tiny, tree-dwelling mammals are roughly the size of a human fist and are famous for their unique prehistoric appearance. Each eye is approximately as large as its brain. This adaptation provides exceptional night vision for their nocturnal lifestyle.
Moalboal Sardine Run
The Moalboal Sardine Run is a spectacular natural phenomenon where millions of sardines congregate just meters away from the shore of Panagsama Beach. Unlike other seasonal migrations, these massive schools stay in the area year-round, making it one of the most reliable marine attractions in the world.
Temple of Leah
The Temple of Leah, often called the “Taj Mahal of Cebu”, is a grand Roman-style edifice located in the highlands of Busay, Cebu City. It was built in 2012 by businessman Teodorico Adarna as a monument of undying love for his late wife, Leah Villa Albino-Adarna.
Badian Canyoneering
Canyoneering, also called canyoning, is an adventure sport of travelling through canyons by walking, climbing, jumping, swimming and rappelling. Wikipedia names the run to Kawasan Falls in Badian, Cebu as one of the Philippines’ canyoneering spots, and says it’s popular with foreign travellers. Along the way, guests jump from cliffs into the turquoise river pools before reaching the falls.
Oslob Sumilon Island
Sumilon Island, off the coast of Oslob in southern Cebu, is the first marine protected area in the Philippines, created as a marine sanctuary in 1974. It is famous for its white sandbar, which changes shape and moves around the island with the seasons. The island also has clear dive sites, a mangrove lagoon, and an old stone watchtower (baluarte).

More than 1,000 paddlers join NUSTAR Resort’s second Dragon Boat Regatta
NUSTAR Resort Cebu, the first and only integrated resort in the Visayas and Mindanao, recently hosted the second edition of its Dragon Boat Regatta, with the support of the Department of Tourism (DOT), Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), and the Local Government Unit of Cebu City, in partnership with the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF) and Philippine Accessible Disability Services, Inc. (PADS).
