Oslob Tours from Cebu: Whale Sharks, Tumalog Falls & Sumilon Island

Oslob is in the far south of Cebu, about a 3–4 hour drive from Cebu City. It's known for whale shark watching, the curtain-like Tumalog Falls, the white sandbar of Sumilon Island and Spanish-era coral-stone ruins. Pox Travel takes you there in our own vans with a local driver-guide, as a day trip or as part of a longer Cebu and Bohol tour.

What you'll see in Oslob

  • Tumalog Falls: a wide, curtain-like waterfall with a cool natural pool. Closed every 2nd Wednesday.
  • Sumilon Island: a white sandbar and clear water. Closed every 3rd Wednesday.
  • Oslob Cuartel Heritage and Oslob Church: Spanish-era coral-stone ruins by the sea.
  • Simala Church (Sibonga): the castle-like shrine, a stop on the way back.
  • Carcar pasalubong stop: local snacks and souvenirs.
  • Whale shark watching (optional): paid on the day, ₱500 per Filipino guest and ₱1,000 per foreign guest.

Good to know

  • Very early start: the 1-day Oslob tour picks you up around 3:30 AM (joiner) or 3:00 AM (private), because of the long drive and to arrive before the crowds.
  • Closed days: Tumalog Falls closes every 2nd Wednesday and Sumilon Island every 3rd Wednesday. On those days we visit the other stops.
  • Pickup: at your hotel in the Cebu City area or at Mactan-Cebu airport, within your tour dates.
  • Weather: if the tour is cancelled because of bad weather, you can get a 70% refund or rebook to another date with no extra payment.
  • Kids: under 4 are free, ages 4–10 get 10% off, and 11 and up pay the adult price.

What to bring

Swimwear and a change of clothes · towel · sunblock (reef-safe if you can) · waterproof phone pouch · water shoes or sandals with straps · cash for the whale sharks, food and souvenirs · modest clothes for the churches (cover shoulders and knees).
